The Talbott Reimagined - Our Grand Debut

The Talbott Launches Historic Renovation and Reimagining, Joining Marriott Bonvoy’s Autograph Collection

[Chicago, IL] February 12, 2025 – The Talbott, a beloved landmark in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood, is excited to announce a transformative renovation, which will culminate in its rebranding as a member of Marriott Bonvoy’s Autograph Collection when the renovation is complete in April, 2025. This renovation marks a new chapter in the hotel’s storied legacy, blending timeless elegance with contemporary sophistication to create a chic urban retreat for both discerning travelers and locals. The transformed hotel will be a most fitting addition to Autoraph Collection’s global portfolio, with each of its over 320 independent properties created with a clear vision and a story to tell.

“We are incredibly proud of the work that’s being done to revitalize and reimagine The Talbott,” said Will Rademacher, General Manager of The Talbott. “This transformation preserves the essence of what makes The Talbott unique and special, while introducing a bold new vision that elevates the guest experience in a modern, dynamic way.”

A Holistic Transformation

From check-in to room relaxation, The Talbott’s renovation encompasses every facet of the property, including its 178 guestrooms, public areas, and event spaces. Highlights of the transformation include:

  • Upgraded Guestrooms: The guestroom redesign captures the timeless elegance and vibrant energy of Chicago’s Gold Coast.  Balancing refined simplicity with rich detail, the rooms feature warm, creamy tones, blush accents, and light wood finishes that evoke  a tranquil ambiance, while subtle touches of gold add an understated sense of luxury, reflecting the neighborhood’s upscale charm. Thoughtful amenities, such as Nespresso coffee machines, Grown Alchemist bath products, and K-three vintage blue speakers, enhance the guest experience. Locally sourced mini-bars feature artisanal snacks from Chicago-based producers, offering a taste of the city’s vibrant food culture.
  • Lobby and Front Desk Redesign: Studio 11 Design drew inspiration from Chicago’s rich architectural history and vibrant cultural scene. The lobby’s lighting fixtures were sourced from local antique shops, evoking the charm of curated, “found” objects. The new design features intimate nooks for gatherings, complete with games like chess and checkers to encourage interaction and connection. New wooden doors in the Gallery space enhance its flexibility for use as a private dining room or meeting area. The seamless integration of the lobby with the reimagined LAUREL Restaurant creates an inviting and dynamic atmosphere.
  • NEW Restaurant: LAUREL: The Mediterranean-inspired LAUREL debuted in May 2024 and continues to delight diners with its elevated culinary experience and 100-seat outdoor patio.
  • Event, Meeting Space & Fitness Center Enhancements: The Reed Room on the first floor has been refreshed with a contemporary aesthetic, while second-floor meeting space was converted into a state-of-the-art fitness center overlooking Delaware Street.
  • Artistic Touches Throughout: Artwork displayed across the hotel introduces bold, contemporary elements that juxtapose the classic interiors. These curated pieces draw inspiration from exhibits at the Chicago Art Institute, with some selections adding vibrant, modern energy to public spaces while others reflect the city’s storied artistic heritage.

“We’ve always believed in the unique charm and storied heritage of this iconic property. Our decision to embark on this transformative renovation reflects our commitment to enhance and elevate the guest experience while honoring and celebrating The Talbott’s rich history,” shares Drew Coles, CEO of FullG Capital.
